I’m Ruta Jumite, Riga based multidisciplinary designer, focusing on design methodologies for non-extractive futures and eco-centred care relationships. Working in mediums of research, graphic, space and process design.
Recent graduate from the Creative Sustainability MA program at Aalto University, and currently working on several projects as an independent designer in collaboration with Art Academy of Latvia, leading art institutions of Latvia, NGOs and more.

Within the year 2023 I was also awarded by the National Design Award of Latvia for a design project I did for a youth oriented NGO called Young Folks. I have created a visual identity — system that can be continued by the kids and youngsters themselves. Therefore, the project brings a wider impact and contributes to democratize graphic design and make it more available in the not-for-profit sector.
In the past years I have been also working as a graphic designer for several significant events: Survival Kit 14 contemporary art festival; “Latvian Collection” at Malmo Art Museum; Latvian Pavilion at the 59th Biennale Di Venezia; Riga Summer Culture program 2021; and “Kuldiga.Stories.” book design.
